Some of the birthrights Perseids that I managed to capture this year on the day of the showers maximum intensity. This years observation were hindered by almost fully illuminated Moon that washed out dimmer meteors.
List of events in sky this month – August 2017:
3 – Close conjunction between Moon and planet Saturn, they are separated about 3 degrees.
7 – Full Moon.
7 – Partial lunar eclipse.
10 – Close conjunction between Moon and planet Neptunr, they are separated less than half a degree.
12 – Peak of the Perseids meteor shower, with ZHR of about 100.
16 – Lunar occultation of bright star γ Tau. More info
16 – Lunar occultation of bright θ1 Tau. More info

19 – Close conjunction between Moon and planet Venus, they are separated about 3 degrees.
21 – New Moon.
21 – Total Solar eclipse, not visible in Europe.
25 – Close conjunction between Moon and planet Jupiter, they are separated about 3 degrees.
30 – Close conjunction between Moon and planet Saturn, they are separated about 3 degrees.
